Amazing Cover Songs: A Fifth of Beethoven by Walter Murphy

You’re probably wondering how a Disco song landed on a Rock N Roll Site. When I started the “Amazing Cover Songs” section, this song kept creeping into my thoughts. There are some great cover songs in music history and I might be a die hard rock n roll girl but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate ALL great music.

A “Fifth of Beethoven” sent  Walter Murphy into iconic 70s status when it hit the dance floor. Walter is an arranger/composer who did a lot of work for The Tonight Show but few people knew who he was until this song hit the airwaves. If you’re like most rock lovers you probably never bothered to give this tune a second thought. If that’s you- you’ve been given a second chance. Take the time to really listen.
